Utilise Your Wetsuit Warranty

Use (but don’t abuse!) the warranty covering your wetsuit. Sadly sh@t happens – zips break, seams fray, defects may occur. If you look after your wetsuit religiously (for tips check out our blog post on wetsuit care), sometimes problems can still arise. Fortunately, the leading wetsuit manufacturers have your back covered and your wetsuit may come with an extensive warranty.

Use it! It is surprising how many people come in for wetsuit repairs with problems that could have been resolved with their warranty, but they waited too long.

When purchasing a new wetsuit, always check the seams, taping, zip and knee patches, and also the wetsuit warranty that supports your suit. Most issues can be resolved easily and quickly early on, so make sure you retain your wetsuit warranty details and receipt.

If an issue arises with your wetsuit, first and foremost always contact the reseller you purchase your wetsuit from to discuss further.

There is an international warranty.

Wetsuit warranty :

• 3 years warranty on all stitching
• 12 month warranty on all materials and constructions
• 12 month warranty on Aquaban Liquid Tape

This warranty does not cover the following

• Damage caused by anything other than defects in materials or workmanship.
• Use in commercial, rental, teaching or instructional programs or activities.
• Damage caused by extended or excessive exposure to sunlight, improper handling or storage, or failure to follow instruction provided with this product.
• This product when classified as being 2nd hand or it is being sold as a 2nd (it is being sold as a product with existing defects).
• Normal wear and tear, including scratches and fading.
• Wetsuits repaired by other repair service.

Using the warranty

Must be supplied to validate warranty:

• The proof of purchase
• A cleaned, disinfected and dry wetsuit, inside and outside (a charge will be applied to clean it up if needed).

There are 2 ways to use the warranty :

Return to store : Go back to your local Rip Curl dealer, they’ll send your suit to a Rip Curl service centre.
You must have proof of purchase (receipt or invoice).

Rip Curl Wetsuits Repair Service :Send it back to Rip Curl by certified mail, along with proof of purchase (receipt or invoice).
Your wetsuit will be returned to you as soon as possible free of charge (if covered under warranty).

Repair Workshop : OUT OF WARRANTY

Our Service Center will also repair Rip Curl wetsuits that are out of warranty at a minimal cost.
All repairs come with a 3 month workmanship warranty.

Must be supplied for repair :

• A quote done by your wetsuit dealer, using the repair slips and price list.
1-Every non quoted repairs won’t be fixed
2-Without any quote the repair will be done and charged without any warning.
• A cleaned, disinfected and dry wetsuit, inside and outside (a charge will be applied to clean it up if needed).
